The Opening of an Envelope
‘The Opening of an Envelope’ is an exploration into both the idea of the anti-celebration and the celebration of the everyday. Using symbols of celebration such as balloons, confetti, banners and cake etc, I demonstrate how we can make mundane tasks into events to remember. It investigates parts of life that would not be considered something to celebrate, made as an ironic nod towards the traditional modes of celebration. Gratitude for the everyday is something I am striving to highlight with the project.
